The atlases have title pages printed in red and black, and half title pages printed in red reading: Monographie du nouvel Opéra de Paris. Each voume has "Table des planches" indicating that folded leaves of plates in volume 1 bear 2 numbers and colored plates (chromolithographs) on single leaves in volume 2 bear 2 numbers. Plates were drawn and engraved after Garnier by various artists. Plate volume 1 includes frontispiece portrait of Charles Garnier engraved by M. Deveaux after a painting by P. Baudry, 1868
The text and the two atlases of engraved plates were issued in parts. The two plate volumes have title pages dated 1880
